DONATE A TREE
A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION MAKING A LOCAL IMPACT FROM THE GROUND UP

Somos El Cambio was initiated in 2020 to further strengthen and organize Envision's impact initiatives, primarily focused around environmental preservation, restoration of ecosystems and empowerment of the local community.

With an ever-efficient implementation of our resources, we strive to educate and empower the local community, as well as leverage volunteer programs and collaborate with both governmental and non-profit organizations.

We are strong in our beliefs that as well as bridging the gap between the public and private sector, our efforts will also serve as an inspiration for how others can make an impact within their own local communities.

DOING MORE WITH LESS

With an emphasis on the efficient use of funds and resources, we make every contribution we receive count.

THE RIPPLE EFFECT

Even the smallest of ripples has the potential to turn into a large wave. Our future aim is for our efforts to inspire change far beyond the immediate communities in which we operate.

LOCAL COLLABORATION

One of the cornerstones of our foundation’s accomplishments so far, are our efforts in empowering, involving and educating our local community as well as selecting key organizations to partner with.

ENVISION'S IMPACT
  • +17,000 trees planted directly by Envision Festival.
  • +80,000 trees planted with Envision Festival’s support in collaboration with other initiatives.
  • $18,000 worth of medical equipment donated to the local Hospital Tomas Casas, located in Ciudad Cortes, a neighboring town to Uvita, for COVID relief efforts.
  • $7,800 donated to the Uvita community food bank, through a local foundation focused on identifying and distributing food to those families in greatest need.
  • +4,600 trees donated and planted with ASADA, a branch of a national government agency (AyA) that regulates the distribution and use of water. They manage and control the hydrological resources to protect the water spring that feeds water into one of the main rivers of Uvita, hometown to Somos El Cambio and the Envision Festival site.
  • 8 monkey bridges via a cooperation alliance with The Electrical Institute of Costa Rica (ICE).
  • $17k to fund upgrades on the local water system.
  • Over 30 tons of trash collected during clean-up activities nationwide in 2022 alone, successfully accomplished as a result of an alliance with Operation Rich Coast, a Costa Rican non-profit with an impressive trajectory, responsible for coordinating hundreds of volunteers nationwide to implement beach and urban space clean ups.

A CLOSER LOOK AT OUR

ONGOING  PROJECTS

Our number one priority for Somos El Cambio is environmental preservation and restoration, and all ongoing and future projects fall within this mission. See below for more information.

MONKEY BRIDGES

MONKEY BRIDGES

Thanks to an invaluable partnership with the owners of Rancho la Merced, the property where Envision Festival is located, we have built an alliance to work together and grow biological corridors that connect coastal and mountain ecosystems. By planting trees along the tracks and fence lines within the property that define its cattle pastures, we recreate the connectivity routes for wildlife migration in one of the most biodiverse regions of Costa Rica.

TREE PLANTING

+80,000 PLANTED TREES

Over 17,000 trees have been planted by Envision Festival’s efforts alone. On top of that, via a number of collaborations with other foundations, initiatives and the independent efforts of others within their own properties, over 80,000 trees have been planted. Our goal to plant 10,000 trees in 2020 was proudly realized as a celebration of Envision’s 10 year anniversary.

REFORESTATION FOR WATER PRESERVATION

WATER PRESERVATION

Through an alliance with the ASADA, a branch of a national government agency (AyA) that regulates the distribution and use of water in rural areas, over 4600 trees of native species were donated and planted. With this alliance, we restored six hectares of deforested land, where numerous water springs had been identified. In addition to reforestation benefits, the shade created by the new growth of trees aimed to increased water flow during the dry season to replenish the springs that feed the principal river providing water to the local community of Uvita and its surroundings.
